I started selling men's shirts while at university. Then cosmetics. Then bags. Then money lending. Then a women's clothing business that eventually involved importing from China. Some failed. One of the biggest lessons was losing most of the UGX 6 million I'd saved for lending — because I didn't have clear systems.
I didn't stop being an entrepreneur. I became a better one.
I returned to lending, but this time I treated it as a real business. I registered it. Separated company and personal money. Opened an office. Started paying myself a salary. Reinvested. Created rules. Built accountability. Focused on integrity. Started a prayer altar. And grew Bingonglod Credit Limited from UGX 2 million to UGX 200 million in three years.
